This tutorial will guide you through setting up your Amazon S3 dashboard.
First, open 'S3 Bucket Performance.psm' (If you haven't downloaded the dashboard already, sign in to SiSense.com and go to 'My Prism').
1. The following dialog window will appear:
2. Click on 'Connect to my Amazon S3 bucket'. The following window will appear:
3. Enter your username and password and click on 'Connect to Server'. This will update the dropdown list with all the buckets in your account.
4. Select the bucket you want to retrieve data from and press OK.
The following window will appear:
1. This window displays your connection info in the upper part. If you want to choose another bucket or change to a different Amazon S3 account, click on 'Edit Connection'.
2. In the lower part of the window, choose a time frame from which to retrieve data from Amazon. These options are available:
A note on Bucket logging: Data can only be retrieved from time frames in which logging was enabled on the Amazon S3 account. If logging is disabled for the selected Bucket, then Prism automatically enables it. In this case, data will be available only from this date onward.
3. Click 'Synchronize' to start fetching the data from Amazon S3. Note that if a long time period is selected, it may take a long time for all the data to be retrieved.
A note on synchronization times: The bigger the time frame, the longer the synchronization time. Note that time frames that are longer than a few days might take a significant amount of time to synchronize.
4. After synchronization completes, refresh the dashboard by hovering over the date selector on the upper right corner and clicking the refresh button.
5. Using the date range selector choose the dates you want to analyze, and click 'Apply'.
Editing the Amazon S3 connection and synchronizing is possible via buttons on the upper left corner of the dashboard:
A note on data synchronization: Starting from your first data synchronization, every additional synchronization will add new data to your database. In case of date collisions, existing data will be replaced by the latest synchronization.
Congratulations, you are now ready to use the dashboard.
