We’re thrilled to bring you a roundup of the most exciting Sisense product innovations since the beginning of 2024—new capabilities enabling you to turn your analytics vision into reality with unprecedented speed. As always, we aim to inspire product teams to create powerful analytics experiences that both delight their end-users and drive their businesses forward.

In this article, we’ll share the latest Sisense features, which were designed to fast-track your embedded analytics journey and help you push boundaries in product development.

Introducing Compose SDK: Power and flexibility for developers

The new Compose SDK is a game-changer for both product teams and developers. (Psst, you can test drive Compose SDK with a free 30-day trial.)

For product teams, this SDK meets a crucial need: it allows them to deliver the best data experiences to end-users, and since it’s the latest in composable development, time to market is fast-tracked.

With Compose SDK, you get the flexibility to build using code-first or using pre-built rich UI components.

For developers, Compose SDK enables a more flexible and faster delivery of embedded analytics, while working with their familiar frameworks. Front-end engineering teams will love the SDK’s support for React, Angular, and Vue.js (beta) UI components, along with Typescript and JavaScript.

Compose SDK also comes with a rich array of out-of-the-box composable visualization components, minimizing developer ramp time for quick, productive builds. You can also bring your own visualizations. Lastly, Compose SDK provides comprehensive libraries for charting, querying, and data exploration.

“We’ve been impressed with the high-quality native components and documentation. It allows us to envision a world of possibilities which puts our users in control. Compose SDK is built with modern, high-quality tooling that makes it a joy for our developers to work on top of.”

-Eric Typaldos, the co-founder and CTO of Hive

Getting conversational: The Compose SDK analytics chatbot

We’re quickly innovating on Compose SDK, and already have new capabilities in beta (like our Analytics Chatbot) that enable product and development teams to integrate conversational analytics into their apps. Think of the Analytics Chatbot as a whole chat experience you can add to your app, providing a natural language experience for your end-users.

Available as a React component, your users can start a conversation either by using pre-generated QuickStart natural language questions or by asking their own. For example, they can ask questions regarding the data model, including fields and metrics, or about other analytics. They can get visual answers, or detailed narratives for data storytelling.

Fusion Winter 2024 release: Packed with useful features

Sisense’s first major release of 2024, Fusion Winter delivers powerful new capabilities for developers, dashboard designers, and data modelers:

1. Compose SDK for Fusion

As mentioned above, Compose SDK for Fusion provides comprehensive libraries for charting, querying, and data exploration for developers to create an in-app analytics experience for end users. Plus, it integrates seamlessly with standard web frameworks and languages for rapid developer adoption.

 2. Dashboard collaboration: Powering team creativity

For dashboard designers, collaboration is key. That’s why we’ve introduced dashboard co-authoring. Now, multiple designers can collaborate on a single dashboard, fostering creativity and innovation within your organization.

3. Flexible perspectives for tailored data models

Last year, we introduced Perspectives to Fusion, allowing users to create sub-models tailored to specific groups without duplicating the data model. This year, we’ve enhanced Perspectives with increased flexibility and functionality, including the ability to duplicate perspectives, manage drill hierarchies, and customize columns.

Looking ahead: What’s next for Fusion?

As we move into 2024, Fusion will shift to a quarterly release cycle to deliver the highest quality content with less friction. Your feedback is crucial in shaping future releases, so be sure to voice your ideas and suggestions in the Product Feedback Forum. Stay tuned for more updates as we continue to push the boundaries of innovation together.
