Sisense Privacy Notice

This Privacy Notice describes how Sisense Ltd. (collectively with its affiliates, “Sisense” “we“, “our” or “us“) handles and protects the information it collects or receives from the individuals who interact with us, such as users of our website at https://www.sisense.com and other Sisense-owned websites (“users” and the “Websites”, respectively), customers, business partners, event attendees and recipients of marketing messages from Sisense (“you”).
Please note that this Privacy Notice does not govern the processing of personal information when Sisense processes such information on behalf of our customers, i.e., personal information that is transferred to us by our customers while using our products and services.

Sisense collects personal information, including information that can be used to identify an individual (“Personal Information”), from you when you make use of Websites or otherwise communicate with us. This falls broadly into the following categories. We may combine Personal Information collected from the below categories for the purposes set forth in this Privacy Notice. Sisense may provide additional disclosures or information about our collection and processing of Personal Information. These notices may supplement this Privacy Notice or clarify Sisense’s processing practices.
Information that you provide voluntarily:
- When you use or otherwise interact with our Websites. For example, when you register on the Websites, request a demo or a download, subscribe to our blog, register for a free trial account or otherwise interact with us (for example through the “contact us” option).
- When you subscribe to marketing communications or provide Personal Information to Sisense through social media pages, sales promotion or online advertisement campaigns.
- When you sign up for a Sisense event or webinar and/or when attend one of our events or webinars.
- You visit, interact with, or use, any of our sales activities, such as during phone calls with sales representatives.
In such instances, we will collect your contact information (such as your name, email address, phone number, etc.), professional information (such as your job title, employer name and line of business), IDs and passwords (in connection with our trial account) and other Personal Information you choose to provide to us.
Information that we collect automatically:
- When you visit our Websites, we may collect certain information automatically from your device. In some countries, including the UK and countries in the European Economic Area (EEA), this information may be considered Personal Information under applicable data protection laws.
- This information includes traffic data including a user’s IP address, domain server, type of computer, and type of web browser. We also track users’ movements around the Websites. In addition, we collect statistical data related to our users’ use of the Websites (including Websites usage patterns).
- Collecting this information enables us to better understand the visitors who come to our Websites, where they come from, and what content on our Websites is of interest to them. We use this information for our internal analytics purposes (such as analysing Websites’ users attribution) and to improve the quality and relevance of our Websites to our visitors.
- Some of this information may be collected using cookies and similar tracking technologies, as explained further under the heading “Cookies” below.
Information that we obtain from third party sources
- From time to time, we may receive Personal Information about you from third party sources, but only where we have checked that these third parties either have your consent or are otherwise legally permitted or required to disclose your Personal Information to us. Such third party sources may include, among others, public databases, social media platforms and other advertising and business partners.
- The types of information we collect from third parties may include your contact information (such as your name, email address, phone number, etc.) and professional information (such as your job title, employer name and line of business), and we may use the information we receive from these third parties for the purposes set forth in this Privacy Notice, including marketing purposes.
We use the information that you provide to us or that we collect for the purposes described in this Privacy Notice or for the purpose that we explain to you at the time we collect your Personal Information. These include (as applicable):
- to communicate with you and respond to any requests for information and demos,
- to fulfil our contractual obligations,
- to ensure the security of the Websites,
- for other internal business purposes, including, among others, for purposes of quality control and staff training,
- to analyse trends,
- to administer the Websites,
- to improve our products and services,
- to better understand our customers and users and the way use and interact with our Websites, including their user experience,
- for marketing purposes and promotional communications and to send you news and updates about Sisense’s products and services,
- to gather demographic information about our user base as a whole, and
- to communicate with you in connection with our events and webinars. After an event/ webinar we may contact you about such event/ webinar and related Sisense products and services.
We may use the information that you provided us or that we collected from your activity on the Websites in combination with Personal Information from other sources and use third-party services to infer your region and the organization you are associated with to tailor the content you see, interact with you and to market directly to you.
We also utilize unstructured machine learning and artificial intelligence technologies to: (i) describe, predict and improve business performance within Sisense, (ii) understand your requirements and needs while communicating with us (e.g., by email), in order to provide you with better support and customer service that is tailored to your needs, and (iii) to improve our services.
We compile and store data and Personal Information to generate reports related to our users’ access to and use of our Websites. We may share aggregated statistical information with third parties as described in this Privacy Notice.
We may disclose your Personal Information to the following categories of recipients:
- to our group companies (companies owned or operated by us).
- to third party service providers and partners who need to have access to the information for the purpose of providing services to us only (and not for such third parties’ commercial use in any way). For example, chatbots operators, service providers that provide data analysis insights and third parties that automate our marketing/ advertising activities. In certain cases we may also disclose your Personal Information to our customer relationship management systems providers in connection with providing you with products and/or services you request.
- to any competent law enforcement body, regulatory, government agency, court or other third party if the information is required by law in order to prevent, investigate, or take action regarding illegal activities. In addition, we will share information in response to legal process, court orders, subpoenas, or to establish or exercise our legal rights or defend against legal claims.
- to any other person if we have your permission to do so.
- to an actual or potential buyer (and its agents and advisers) in connection with a corporate merger, consolidation, restructuring, the sale of substantially all of our stock and/or assets or other corporate change, including, during the course of any due diligence process (provided that we inform the buyer it must use your Personal Information only for the purposes disclosed in this Privacy Notice).
- to partners, for example, if we collected your information in joint marketing activities (such as events or webinars) with a partner, we may provide your Personal Information to that partner. In addition, if you have attended a Sisense event/ webinar, we may share information about your attendance with your employer and our sponsors and partners, where legally permitted to do so.
- in some markets where Sisense markets its products and services through partners, your information may be shared with a certified Sisense business partner for the purpose of allowing the partner to contact you with additional information and offers for Sisense products and services.
- we may disclose your Personal Information for any other purpose with your consent. For example, we may publish features customer stories to promote our products and services with your consent.
Our legal basis for collecting and using the Personal Information described above will depend on the Personal Information concerned, the country which you reside and the specific context in which we collect it.
However, we will normally collect Personal Information from you only where we have your consent to do so, where we need the Personal Information to perform a contract with you, or where the processing is in our legitimate business interests and not overridden by your data protection interests or fundamental rights and freedoms.
“Legitimate business interests” means the reasonable interests of our company in conducting and promoting our business, such as business-to-business direct marketing, fraud prevention, business risk evaluation, and providing you with excellent services and products and the best experience on the Websites. When we process your Personal Information for our legitimate business interests, we make sure to consider and balance any potential impact on you (both positive and negative), and your rights under data protection laws.
Our legitimate business interests do not automatically override your interests – we will not use your Personal Information for activities where our interests are overridden by the impact on you (unless we have your consent or are otherwise required or permitted to by law). Depending on the country which you live in and the laws that apply to you, you may be able to object to our use of your Personal Information for our legitimate business interests. Similarly, if we collect and use your Personal Information in reliance of our legitimate business interests (or those of any third party), we will make clear to you at the relevant time what those legitimate business interests are.
In certain jurisdictions and in certain contexts, we need to rely upon your consent to process personal data rather than our legitimate business interests. Where we seek to rely upon consent, we will ask for this in advance of processing your personal data.
In some cases, we may also have a legal obligation to collect Personal Information from you or may otherwise need the Personal Information to protect your vital interests or those of another person.
If we ask you to provide Personal Information to comply with a legal requirement or to perform a contract with you, we will make this clear at the relevant time and advise you whether the provision of your Personal information is mandatory or not (as well as of the possible consequences if you do not provide your Personal Information).

We use cookies and similar tracking technology (collectively, “Cookies”) to collect and use Personal Information about you, including to serve interest-based advertising. Please see our Cookie Notice for more information.
If we have your permission to do so, or if you are an existing customer and we have a legitimate business interest, we will use your contact information (such as your email address) to provide you with promotional and marketing emails and other communication. You can opt-out of receiving promotional and marketing emails at any time, but if you do you may not receive the full benefit of our services. Opting-out can be done by following the instructions at the bottom of the promotional material or by contacting us using the information under the “Data subject rights” section below.
We do not send marketing emails to you if you decide to opt out, and we do not provide email addresses to any third party, except in the situations stated in this Privacy Notice.
At any time, you have the ability to opt out of receiving marketing communications from Sisense, but you may not opt out of administrative emails (for example, emails about your transactions or policy changes) while you are a registered user to our products or services. You can opt out by either changing your e-mail preferences, contacting us using the details below or using the link provided at the bottom of each email message.
We do not knowingly collect Personal Information from children under the age of 16. If a parent or guardian becomes aware that his or her child has provided us with Personal Information without his or her consent, he or she should contact us at [email protected]. If we become aware that a child under the age of 16 has provided us with Personal Information, we will delete such information from our files.
We use appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect the Personal Information that we collect and process about you. The measures we use are designed to provide a level of security appropriate to the risk of processing your Personal Information.
Sisense may update this Privacy Notice at any time in response to changing legal, technical or business developments. When we update this Privacy Notice, we will take appropriate measures to inform you, consistent with the significance of the changes we make.
This Privacy Notice was last changed on the date set forth at the top of this Privacy Notice.
Based on the country which you live in and to the extent provided under applicable laws, you may have the following data protection rights:
- If you wish to access, correct, update or request deletion of your Personal Information, please contact us using the details below.
- To learn more about the right to opt-out of marketing communications, please review the “E-mail and other direct marketing communications” section above. To exercise this right please contact us using the details below.
- Similarly, if we have collected and process your Personal Information with your consent, then you can withdraw your consent at any time. Withdrawing your consent will not affect the lawfulness of any processing we conducted prior to your withdrawal, nor will it affect processing of your Personal Information conducted in reliance on lawful processing grounds other than consent.
- If you are a resident in the UK or the EEA, you may also have data protection rights, that allow you to object to processing of your Personal Information, restrict processing of your Personal Information, request portability of your Personal Information and complain to a data protection authority. We respond to all requests we receive from individuals wishing to exercise their data protection rights in accordance with applicable data protection laws.
We retain Personal Information we collect from you as long as is needed to fulfil the purposes outlined in this Privacy Notice, where we have an ongoing legitimate business need to do so (for example, to provide you with a service you have requested) and/or where required by law.
When we have no ongoing legitimate business need to process your Personal Information, we will either delete or anonymise it or, if this is not possible (for example, because your Personal Information has been stored in backup archives), then we will securely store your Personal Information and isolate it from any further processing until deletion is possible.
Your Personal Information may be transferred to, and processed in, countries other than the country in which you are resident. These countries may have data protection laws that are different to the laws of your country (and, in some cases, may not be as protective).
Specifically, our servers are located in the United States, and our group companies and third party service providers and partners operate around the world. This means that when we collect your Personal Information we may process it in any of these countries.
However, we have taken appropriate safeguards to require that your Personal Information will remain protected in accordance with this Privacy Notice. These include, among others, implementing the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses for transfers of Personal Information between our group companies, which require all group companies to protect Personal Information they process from the EEA in accordance with European Union data protection law. Our Standard Contractual Clauses can be provided on request. We have implemented similar appropriate safeguards with our third party service providers and partners and further details can be provided upon request.
